I shot Arizona and Florida -- two programs for the Off the Map television series. ​

​​Susan Hayden visits Navajo descendants and learns about living on the Mesa.  Follow her to the heights of the Grand Canyon and view ancient petroglyphs found in Canyon de Chelly.  Visit Monument Valley and view the stone structures rising up from the valley floor.

The Vanishing Navaho

The more we neglect cultural preservation, the less flexible our world becomes. When we are ignorant of the importance of cultural protection, our thinking narrows.

​As the Navajo struggle to preserve their culture, protect their natural resources, and keep pace with the modern world, this history bodes well for meeting the difficult challenges ahead.
