Inspired by Louis Sarno's book Song from the Forest describing his relationship with the Bayaka people, I flew to the Central African Republic in the 2010's at my own expense (Toronto to Bangui).  I kept the cost of accommodation and local travel down by staying in small local hotels and by using local transportation.  As there was no regular transportation from Bangui to the southwest corner of CAR, it took four days to cover the 400 kilometres.  Overall, I spent about 10 days in the area primarily in the location marked * in red on the map below.  Back in Canada, I cut two short documentaries for my YouTube channel and website: one on the lifestyle of the Bayaka and the other on Louis Sarno - Man in the Forest.​
