I visited Israel in December 2014.

Around 80,000 Bedouin live in 45 unrecognized villages in the negev.

Masada is a desert mesa rising high above the Dead Sea.

Land disputes with Israel have pushed the Bedouin onto ever-decreasing plots of land and only around 10% are able to maintain a traditinal pastoral lifestyle.

The maktesh is 300m deep, 8km wide and 40km long and features multicoloured sandstone, volcanic rock and fossils.

The Wall is a place of pilgrimage where Jews wold come to mourn and lament their ancient loss.

Advat was built as a caravan stop on the road from Petra to the Mediterranean coast.
