Project 1 - Photo Book: Under One Sun*

Over a period of eight years (1975 - 1983), I traveled to the 22 countries listed below and randomly took black and white photographs.  In 1984, I organized them into a 96 page book but was unable to find a publisher. In the end, I hired a Montreal printing house to produce a limited edition of 1,000 copies.  Over a two year period I was able to sell all copies to Ontario schools and libraries at $19.95 to $24.95 per book.  Although I eventually sold them, I concluded that books of this nature where not highly profitable unless marketed in large numbers on a global scale.  I recognized as well the value of partnering with organizations who supported the messaging of each publication.  Below is a list of partnerships I later formed on four of my books with organizations which greatly lowered the initial output of funds.
