Being rushed into a public hospital crammed with Thai-speaking strangers, with an intravenous strapped to my arm, did not make it easy for me to make new friends.
Shared activities, however, would soon change all of that. Boredom, constant noise, mosquitoes, needles, diabolical hospital food and fear of dying quickly brought us together. Despite language differences, I was one of them.+ |
